[04-01-2025] The Balgreen Tunnel Project updated the Community Council at the meeting of 14 January 2025. A 'Go Fund Me’ Balgreen Tunnel Project page has been set up. There is also a website - balgreentunnel.wordpress.com and email address - bigweebalgreentunnelproject@gmail.com. The funding will be used for artists’ designs and time, paint, posters and the upkeep of the mural designs.

Plans were in place to have a mural painted on the exit and entrance to the tunnel on the weekend of 30 November 2024. The middle section is due to be completed this Spring. The day before the work was due to start the graffiti artist, Dallas Henderson Smith, was unwell and had to cancel. As the temperature has to be above 10° for painting, the project has been postponed until the better weather.

The project group plans to have a meeting with Balgreen Parent Council to get input for designs from the pupils of Balgreen Primary School. The group applied for funding of £5,000 to the Council’s Community Grants Fund in December 2024 and awaits a decision. It is also in the process of applying for a Scotmid Community Grant.
