Road closures
You will see attached the TTRO in place for The Famous Grouse Nations Series fixtures as above, as well as a road closure map. These are pertinent to the four Test matches, with the Scotland ‘A’ game against Chile at Hive Stadium on Saturday 23 November not subject to any closures, given the attendance at a smaller venue. Roads will be closed as necessary to ensure public safety throughout the four Test matches.
Scottish Rugby works closely with a number of event delivery partners including Crexcell Traffic Management company, City of Edinburgh Council and Police Scotland to ensure any road closures are only implemented for the minimum time necessary. Please plan ahead as roads are open during the games. Please see the advertised timings of road closures and plan ahead – roads will re-open during the games. The TTRO is published on the City of Edinburgh Council website and attached to this email.
None of the road closures impact an emergency situation being attended to – if you experience an emergency on match day and need access to a closed road (emergency only) please approach the nearest steward, traffic management official or police officer at the road closure or contact 999.
Important to note also that buses will go on their usual diversion throughout event days – when we have this information from Lothian Buses, we will share.
Contacting Scottish Rugby on match days
We want to hear all feedback. We are introducing an online form, which you can click on and feed back at the time, and it will be picked up by part of our Customer Services team. It’s exclusively for local residents and will go direct to the Events team within the command post at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, where all the agencies and partners for the match are stationed.
The system is robust as it has been used for other events, and you can select whether what you’re getting in touch for is important at the time or something that we can look into post-match.
There are categories from which to choose and although a new system, it is one we hope will be useful for residents and event management alike.
The feedback form will be live from the night before the match and the full day of the match itself, and you can access it here: https://ask.scottishrugby.org/hc/en-gb/requests/new?ticket_form_id=12353436990492
The residents’ hotline will also be operational on game day, three hours before kick-off and an hour after full-time. This number is 0131 346 5225.
Finally, the WhatsApp trial that was used for the Taylor Swift concerts, whereby those who have agreed to get notifications about closures in real time, chiefly for the A8 corridor, will once more be active on match days. Should you wish to join this notification group on WhatsApp, then access via this scannable QR code will add you to it:"
