PC Samantha Campbell of Police Scotland's Preventions, Interventions and Partnerships Team in Edinburgh gave a well-received one hour talk on home safety and security to an audience of over 50 in the Saughtonhall Community Association Hall on Tuesday evening, 9 September 2025. She offered practical advice and demonstrated security items, and provided clear answers to audience questions. She also distributed a number of useful leaflets on different aspects of home security. These can also be downloaded from our website here.

The main way of keeping homes, sheds, cars and bikes more safe is to make entry “slow, difficult and noisy”. Reporting everything is important for building a picture of activity. You can find various reporting channels on our website here.

The audience agreed that Sam had managed the brief and were grateful for her time. She can be contacted at Edinburgh's Preventions, Interventions and Partnerships Team at Samantha.Campbell@scotland.police.uk. Our own area's Community Policing team includes Susan.Fulton@scotland.police.uk.

Thanks to Saughtonhall Community Association for hosting the event.
