"I write to inform you of upcoming improvement works along the Water of Leith between Roseburn Cliff and Wester Coates. These works will help prevent erosion from the banking and provide protection to the water of Leith Walkway while also continuing to provide vital habitat for the diverse plant and animal life within the river corridor.

The works are due to commence in July, a start date will be confirmed in due course. Works will take approximately two months to complete. During this time, the section of the Water of Leith Walkway between Roseburn Cliff and Wester Coates, including the access path to/from Wester Coates Gardens, will be closed to all pedestrians and cyclists.

It is recognised that these works will cause disruption to local residents, I apologise for the inconvenience these works will cause but hope that you will appreciate the greater long-term benefits of this project and encourage all users, for their safety and the safety or our contractors, to respect the closure and use an alternative route."
